Handgards Handy Hallow’s DIY: Crafting a Haunted Halloween!

Halloween DIY Decorations Using Disposables

It’s that time of year again: Halloween is upon us. And what better way to celebrate than with some DIY projects? Disposable gloves and Expendable are great tools for all sorts of Halloween-themed DIYs, from decorations to costumes and seasonal food ideas. Here are some guidelines to get you started.

Gloves:

  • Skeleton Candy Hands: This one’s super easy—just grab some chocolate rounds and place them in your fingers then stuff the rest of the palm of the glove with various chocolate candies! We suggest using Valugards® Vinyl Disposable Gloves for their sheer, durable look in showcasing candies used to fill the glove.
  • Blood-stained Gloves: To create a more horrifying look, you can use red food coloring or red gel paint on the outside of rubber gloves (or both sides if you want an even more realistic bloody effect). Allow it to dry completely, and voila! Your gloves now look like they are covered in blood. We suggest using Handgards® Latex Disposable Gloves for their thick and rigorous strength to soak up color dye while staining better than other materials.
  • Skeleton Marked Gloves: To create spooky outlined skeleton hands, search for skeleton hand images on Google Images. Using a standard Sharpie marker, draw some bone shapes on one side of a latex glove. Color between the lines using a thicker, chisel-tipped Sharpie marker. Then, color in a thick border around the outside of the palm and fingers. Drop a flameless LED tea light into a votive holder or a 4-ounce mason jar and stretch the opening of your skeleton glove around it so it fits snugly and hides the glass. We suggest using Valugards® Vinyl Disposable Gloves for their light opaque look to showcase more of the skeleton print while retaining strength from the tealight.

In addition to being great for Halloween, disposable gloves are also useful year-round. They’re great for cleaning up messes and keeping your hands clean while cooking or gardening. But what if you need something more? That’s where our Handgards Expendables come in! You can use toothpicks, skewers, and knot picks to create custom Halloween cupcake designs or other DIY decorations such as Mini Witch Broomsticks using toothpicks.
