| Extrusion Operator | 12-hour day shift or 12hr Night Shift | Job Summary: The Extrusion Operator is responsible for producing blown film plastic rolls and ensuring the smooth operation of extrusion machines. This role requires troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical issues, performing regular maintenance, and preparing resin mixes for film production. The position operates on a 12-hour shift schedule, and employees are expected to adapt to changes in job duties as needed to meet the organization's production goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Adhere to production schedules to meet production goals. • Monitor and adjust machine temperature, oil levels, and screen packs regularly throughout the shift. • Replace dies and heater bands according to product specifications. • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to ensure smooth machine operation. • Prepare resin mixes for film production based on specifications. • Collaborate with schedules and planners to ensure the correct film type is produced. • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during machine operation and throughout the production area. • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational needs. • Maintain accurate records of production runs, downtime, and any machine adjustments or repairs. • Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines. Skills and Abilities: • Ability to meet output requirements while maintaining quality. • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and operate extrusion machines. • Strong interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with teams and management. • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures (SOPs) and product specifications. • Proficient in basic math (reading, writing, and using a calculator). • Previous experience in extrusion, manufacturing, or a similar production role preferred and ability to work independently. Physical Demands: • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. • Must frequently lift or move up to 75 pounds. • Occasionally push or pull up to 1600 pounds with proper equipment. • Must be able to climb, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed. • Regular use of hands and arms for handling materials, adjusting equipment, and performing machine repairs. • Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception to ensure machine operation and product quality. Work Environment: • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high humidity, and potential airborne particles. • Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends, as needed. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Knowledge of general safety rules and procedures. • Ability to use tape measure/ruler • Ability to take simple measurements in standard and metric systems. • Familiar with mechanical movements of manufacturing machinery • Comprehension of temperature controls and gauges, pressure gauges, etc. • Comprehension of Hydraulics and pneumatics and understanding the mechanic aspect of machines Job Types: Full-time, Temp to Hire Pay: $13.50 per hour Schedule: • 12-hour day shift or 12-hour night shift |
