Handgards® proudly introduces our eco-friendly PlanetGards® Compostable Gloves. Our Compostable Gloves are our contribution to help meet zero waste and sustainability goals. They help by delivering foodservice gloves that are made of material that composts completely in a commercial composting facility. These gloves are available in a powder-free translucent green color that gives the end-user a more professional look. We recommend these gloves to our customers that aim to create a positive change in their businesses and to our customers that have a commercial composting facility near them.
PlanetGards® Compostable Gloves are BPI Certified (Biodegradable Products Institute), and CMA Listed (Compost Manufacturing Alliance), meaning they have been tested and certified as truly compostable in a commercial composting facility.
Why use disposable gloves?
PlanetGards® Compostable Disposable Gloves are produced from materials that fully comply with FDA rule FCN No.178, FCN No.475 or FCN No.907 and can be used in compliance with the FD&C Act with the following use criteria: potential food contact users are those in contact with food that does not exceed 15% alcohol content. According to the FDA, unsafe foods and surfaces containing harmful bacteria, parasites, viruses, and chemical substances were responsible for more than 200 diseases affecting 600 million people worldwide, causing many to fall ill after eating contaminated food. The proper wearing of disposable gloves when preparing, cooking, and serving ready-to-eat foods is critically important to reduce the number of people affected by food contamination.
